Frequently Asked Questions

We understand a compounding pharmacy is something that many people are not familiar with, so we are use to answering questions.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions, we love telling you about what we do!  But here are some questions we hear all the time.

Where are you located at?

We are located at 1008 W. Cherry St., Marion, IL 62959.  We are one block south of Main Street behind The Hub between south Vicksburg Street and south Duncan Street.

What are your hours?

We are opened Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We close daily for lunch 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.  We are closed Saturday and Sunday as well as all major holidays.  If our hours conflict with yours we offer free first class shipping with tracking on all prescriptions, or if you are needing just vitamins or any other over-the-counter products we charge a flat fee of $4.50.  Additional mailing fees may occur with heat sensitive items.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes!  We accept most major brands of insurance as well as government, military, and Medicare.  If we aren’t currently setup with your particular insurance we are still able to give you the proper forms for you to get reimbursed.

A friend of mine is getting a something to help with her menopause issues.  I have some of similar problems what should I do?

We get this question a lot!  The best plan of action is to set up an consultation with the pharmacist.  Hormones can be complicated and like we have said before we aren’t your standard one-size-fits-all pharmacy we look at each person on a individual basis.  Find out more information about consulations.

I don’t have precription insurance, how much will this cost me?

Compound medications are made to order, so we always make contact with you to discuss the medication, get processing information, and to go over pricing before we make anything.

How long will it take before my prescription is ready?

We try our best to get your medication to you as soon as we can.  But a general rule is to give us a 72 hour notice, just in case we have to order in a product.  When your order is ready and you want to pick it up we can give you a call as soon as it is ready!

Do you have regular prescriptions like I get at my retail pharmacy?

Our current main focus right now is compounding, however we are able to fill regular prescriptions!  We don’t keep a large selection of pharmaceutical products but can special order for you.

How can I refill my prescription?

You can call us at 618-969-9600.  We also have an automatic refill reminder system, which makes refilling your prescription super easy.  Just let us know which prescriptions and/or over-the-counter products you would like and what date you would like them, and we will be happy to call you to remind you.

Does Core Pharmacy offer delivery service?

If you are unable to pick up your prescriptions, we offer first class daily mailings on prescriptions at no charge to patients located in states that Core Pharmacy is licensed in.  Currently that is Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, and Florida.  Additional mailing fees may occur with heat sensitive items.  For all mailing services we do require payment before your items can be mailed.  We accept all major credit cards, and as always your personal information is our highest priority.  Local delivery will be added to our services in the near future.

What if I’m out of refills?

Just let us know by giving us a call at 618-969-9600 and let us know. We will contact your medical provider for a refill authorization and contact you as soon as we receive a response.  Remember physician offices can be extremely busy so let us know at least 5-7 business days in advance before your out.

What is your return policy?

State law dictates that once a prescription medication leaves the premises of a pharmacy, it can no longer be returned.  The same rule applies on any vitamins supplement that is compounded in the store.  Vitamins and other supplements that are not compounded in by Core Pharmacy may be returned within 30 days as long as they are unopened.  Please note any heat sensitive and/or perishable items are non-returnable.
